Infinite Help Desk

Yey! After so many months, I finally got in the mood to blog! I'm finding it really hard to write here  since I normally do so when I'm sad or lonely or have no one to talk to, and I am not any of these right now (and in the foreseeable future) thanks to my beautiful and lovely wife.

Last week, a friend of mine called me asking me for help to setup the security of his wireless network. He said that when he arrived home, there were quite a number of people with laptop in front of their gate, apparently using their wireless network to surf the Internet [in your face!]. So I guided him over the phone on how to make his wireless network require a security key (pass phrase) upon connection. After the call, I felt happy and that was when I realized that being an IT Help Desk could have been one of my dream jobs (if not for practicality reasons).

A few days later, another friend emailed me and asked for some advise on what applications to install in her new Android phone. When I told her about my friend who called me because of his wireless network, she told me that her wifi is also unsecured! That was when I got the idea of blogging about my IT Help Desk experiences.

So, in another effort (after Project TILT) to keep this blog updated and at the same time, improve my writing and technical skills, I will be sharing with you in subsequent posts some of my IT Help Desk experiences and the actual solutions/recommendations that I gave for the situation.

If you want to help me fulfill my dream job of becoming a tech support, please post your IT-related questions below and I will try my best to answer them! =)
